How Much Does It Cost to Work With a Personal Injury Lawyer?
SUMMARY
As a personal injury lawyer, I work on a contingency fee basis. What this means is that I won't charge you anything upfront. I will cover all the costs involved in filing the lawsuit, including deposition expenses and travel fees. So, you only have to pay us if you receive compensation for your injury.
FULL TRANSCRIPT
In most cases, the personal injury lawyer works on a contingency fee basis. And what contingency basis means is that the lawyer doesn't charge you anything up front. The lawyer will advance all the costs of filing the lawsuit, all the costs that are associated with doing depositions and traveling and things like that. The lawyer is going to advance all those costs to you.
And the only time that you pay the lawyer or the only time that you would pay me and my law firm, Robins Cloud, is if we resolve your case via settlement or if we go to trial and get a verdict in your favor. So if you receive compensation as a result of your injury, that's the only time that you would have to pay us.
Otherwise, you don't pay anything. If we're not successful in resolving your case, you will not need to pay your attorneys all the money that we have advanced to you to pay for the litigation process. Those are monies that we're not going to seek reimbursement for.
Our promise to you is that the only time that we are going to take any money is if you're successful either via settlement or a verdict in your favor. If we don't win your case, we're never going to ask you for any type of money.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Many personal injury lawyers, including myself, will give a free initial consultation so you can determine if I am someone you feel comfortable sharing sensitive information with, and working with for at least several months to as long as a few years.
