Benefits of Settling Before Going to Trial

SUMMARY

Most cases never go to trial, and this benefits both sides.

Many people are apprehensive about going to trial, as they have seen movies and TV shows where witnesses are grilled by lawyers. My goal is to put my clients in a position of strength so they get the full value of their case because they will never be the same after an injury.

FULL TRANSCRIPT

I would say the vast majority of cases never go to trial. The vast majority of cases in the United States end up settling before trial. And that benefits both sides. There's a lot of apprehension by a lot of people because they see movies, they see TV, and they see witnesses sitting on the stand, plaintiffs sitting on the stand, being grilled by lawyers, sometimes being asked questions that are invasive and seemingly irrelevant. So it's not a process that a lot of people look forward to going through.

And I would say that for the most part, the vast majority of cases just never make it to trial. And that's simply because when you start strong and when you start hard, like I like to do, I put my clients in a position of strength. I put my clients in a position where it is very clear early on that number one, you're injured, and number two, there's someone that's responsible for your injury. And number three, you need to be compensated for your injury because you need to be put in the position that you were in before someone was negligent or reckless. So I start hard and I start strong, because I want to put my clients in a position of strength, in a position of power, so that the defendants understand that, wait a minute, this is not going to be just a cakewalk.

And we can just offer this plaintiff anything that we want to offer them, and they're going to take it. Well, no, that's just simply not the case. My interest is making sure that my clients receive full value of what their case is worth. They're never going to be the same if they've been injured. They're never going to be the same.

But at least what I can do for them is to get some measure of putting them back to where they were before someone did something wrong. Because I like to start hard. Because I like to start strong. It helps my clients because the defendants know they can't just offer us peanuts and we're just going to go ahead and accept it. No, we're going to fight hard and we're going to get everything that we believe that you're entitled to.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Many personal injury lawyers, including myself, will give a free initial consultation so you can determine if I am someone you feel comfortable sharing sensitive information with, and working with for at least several months to as long as a few years.
